Hardware: Peerless Storage

Iomega’s Peerless weds the best of CD-Rs and portable hard drives: gigabytes of removable storage that fit into a ready-to-go dock.

But Iomega has bigger plans: It wants to make Peerless the standard format for data dumping, especially video. The unit comes with MGI VideoWave, a simple DV editor, and the company is collaborating with manufacturers to integrate the drives into car stereos next year and, eventually, into DV recorders.
